Eligibility and employment conditions

Please note that we are not accepting any new application for these positions, so the information below is for legacy purposes only.

Salary and allowances
Marie Sklodowska-Curie PhDs are paid a competitive monthly gross salary of 3,400 €, adjusted with a cost-of-living coefficient specific to the host country. In addition, they include a monthly Mobility Allowance of 600 €. Researchers who have a family at the date of recruitment are also awarded a monthly Family Allowance of 660 €. All amounts are subject to deductions and taxes as per national law. Family is defined as persons linked to the researcher by (i) marriage, or (ii) a relationship with equivalent status to a marriage recognised by the legislation of the country where this relationship was formalised, or (iii) dependent children who are actually being maintained by the researcher; family status is determined at recruitment and does not evolve. A Special Needs Allowance might be awarded to recruited researchers with disabilities whose long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments are certified by a competent national authority and of such nature that their participation in the action would not be possible without the special needs items or services.

Eligibility
To be eligible for one of these PhD positions, the applicant should:
- not already be in a position of a doctoral degree, and be eligble to enrol in a PhD programme in the host institution. Requirements may vary slightly between universities, but this will usually mean that the applicant holds a Master degree in a relevant discipline and has a minimum fluency in English.
- fulfil the trans-national mobility criterion, i.e. not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the recruitment date — unless as part of a compulsory national service or a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention.
- commit to work exclusively for the project if recruited

IMPORTANT: A Master’s degree (or equivalent) is not necessary at the time of the application, but will be required at the date of recruitment.

Generally, application received before May 15th 2024 will be given full priority. However, we may accept later applications until all positions are filled.
