Alexandra Georganti Ntaliape doctoral student at the University of Akureyri (UnAk) in Iceland shares her experience of the European Researchers’ Night!
“We were thrilled to take part in Vísindavaka 2025, Iceland’s national event within the European Researchers’ Night, bringing science and research closer to people across Europe.
The University of Akureyri (UnAk) has joined Vísindavaka for many years and this was the third time we participated on a larger scale, presenting our work together as one community. Together with my research group, I had the opportunity to present my project within the PHABB Marie Skłodowska-Curie program, “Biocontrol of Harmful Algal Blooms”, which focuses on nature-based solutions to reduce the impact of toxic algae.
This year was extra special, as UnAk received the RANNÍS Science Communication Award for the first time!
A great moment to meet the public, share our research, and celebrate the power of science.”
