Activités de recherche

Mon activité de recherche s‘articule autour de la question de la dégradation de la qualité des écosystèmes aquatiques et de ses conséquences sur les communautés microbiennes qui y sont associées. Cette problématique est vue principalement au travers de son impact sur les communautés phytoplanctoniques et phytobenthiques en ciblant plus particulièrement, au sein de ces communautés, les cyanobactéries potentiellement toxiques. Les fréquentes proliférations de ces micro-organismes, dans les plans d'eau voire les cours d'eau du monde entier, sont la source de problèmes à la fois écologiques, économiques et sanitaires.

Au travers d'expérimentations en laboratoire et de travaux sur des plans d'eau et cours d'eau d'intérêt (France, Nouvelle-Zélande, Afrique tropicale et sub-tropicale), mon activité vise principalement :

     ● À améliorer la connaissance de la dynamique des cyanobactéries phytoplanctoniques et benthiques en relation avec celle des facteurs environnementaux associés.

     ● À mieux appréhender la variabilité des niveaux de production des toxines en relation avec la dynamique spatio-temporelle des souches toxiques et non toxiques et des facteurs environnementaux associés.

     ● À participer au développement et/ou à la validation d'outils à destination des acteurs de terrain, facilitant la surveillance des cyanobactéries.

 

Ces activités sont menées dans le cadre de programmes de recherche (financement ANR, FFEM, Agences de l'Eau, ONEMA…) et impliquent des collaborations avec des laboratoires de recherche publics ou des organismes privés disposant de compétences complémentaires (iEES Paris ; Leesu - Ecole des Ponts Paris; ARTELIA, Grenoble ; Cawthron Institute, NZ ; Institut Pasteur, Abidjan…).
