Chemical library and extract library technical manager and communication correspondent
Presentation
- Chemolibrarian: structure, coordinate the organization, manage the database and screening requests, enrich and enhance the chemical library and the extractology library of the MNHN; Interlocutor of the Legal Service and the valorisation unit of the MNHN and the CNRS (implementation of MTAs and research collaboration contracts), interlocutor of the head of the CNRS National Chemical Library and the Collections Department of the MNHN.
- Trainer of Chemolibrarians
- Implement isolation / purification strategies, identification of natural products and biopolymers of microbial origin. Apply appropriate extraction methods, separation and sample preparation techniques, structural analyses of isolated products (NMR, mass spectrometry (MS/MS). Performing biological activity tests.
- Communication correspondent, creation of communication media: welcome booklet for entrants, internal letter. Correspondent for the MNHN dissemination, proposal of actions around the history of chemistry at the MNHN.
Projects
In 2018, I imagined a project of a dramatized visit of the unit’s classroom to retrace 3 centuries of chemistry history at the MNHN. This project was rewarded by the CNRS QVT 2018 call for tenders, in the “team cohesion” category, and presented for the science festival. In 2019 it was “Paris Face cachée” that proposed a nocturnal version.
The Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie supports this action through a sponsorship project, which makes it possible to replay this theatrical visit for another 2 years, to renovate the room, and to consider a virtual tour of this place. In 2020, I led the colossal and transversal project of restoration of the collections room, and inventories of the collections it houses. This consisted of cleaning, inventorying and photographing all the 7381 vials kept in this room.
I was able to imagine activities that were compatible with working at home I also liaise with the Library Department which manages the collection of 400 scientific objects. These objects are highlighted in the adjoining room called “the holy of holies”. I was able in May 2022 to organize the inauguration of these places to thank all the participants.
