Welcome to the NMR technical platform
The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) technical platform is integrated with the UMR 7245 CNRS-MNHN Molecules of Communication and Adaptation of Microorganisms (Department of Adaptations of the Alive of the National Museum of Natural History). Its mission is to provide researchers with tools and expertise in NMR for the understanding of biodiversity at the molecular level.
This technical platform includes two 400 MHz and 600 MHz Bruker liquid RMN spectrometers equipped with measuring probes allowing the analysis of organic compounds and biological molecules of very low concentrations. It also has computer systems for the realization of calculations of molecular modeling under NMR constraints allowing the determination of three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules The NMR makes it possible to obtain signals that characterize the environment of certain atoms (in particular 1H, 13C, 31P and 15N)). Used on purified molecules, it allows to elucidate the plane and three-dimensional structures of the molecules. On extracts of complex composition, it provides profiles characteristic of metabolites allowing a classification from where its application impossible to circumvent in the metabolomic analysis.
Structural analysis of natural substances of biological interest or their synthetic derivatives of various chemical structures, small molecules and biological macromolecules (polyphenol, alkaloids, terpenes, oligosaccharides, peptides). Metabolomic analysis applied to the study of biodiversity and ecosystems (comparison of species or environmental conditions). Analysis and control of the molecules entering the collection in the MNHN Collection of Biological Resources (Chimiothèque du MNHN, CNRS National Chemistry Library).
