Dr Charly Favreau successfully defended his PhD, entitled “Physiological response of Halobacterium salinarum trapped within halite crystals: Methodological developments and ex situ molecular study”, on 5 April 2023 at the Muséum national d’Histoire Naturelle.

Ampitheater Rouelle, named for the chemist Guillaume-François Rouelle who in 1744 (the year he was admitted to the French Academy of Sciences) first defined the chemical composition of neutral salts based on marine salt crystal formation. His three doctoral advisors, Adrienne Kish, Séverine Zirah (HDR), and Arnaud Huguet (HDR), along with his thesis defense jury (Karim Benzerara jury president, Bruno Franzetti, Jocelyne DiRuggiero, and Sébastien Ferreira-Cerca), and all the members of the MCAM lab congratulate him on his success!
