Research Activities
This multidisciplinary work is carried out in co-tutorship between the "Biochemistry of Microbial Interactions" (BIM) and "Cyanobacteria, Cyanotoxins and the Environment" (CCE) teams of UMR 7245 MCAM.
This project aims to explore the potential of new benthic cyanobacterial strains isolated from mangroves in Mayotte and Guadeloupe to produce bioactive secondary metabolites such as antimicrobial or allelopathic compounds.
The project is focused on exploring the taxonomy of tropical benthic cyanobacterial strains and highlighting their chemical and biological potentials, in particular for the production of antimicrobial metabolites that could be involved in the control of the micro-organism populations.
